This spring, Alaska Air Cargo will launch nonstop daily flights between Seattle (SEA) and London (LHR), offering thousands of pounds of belly-cargo capacity on our 787-9 widebody aircraft and opening a new global gateway between the U.K. and Hawai’i and Asia through our biggest West Coast hub.
We will also become the first U.S. passenger airline to offer daily nonstop cargo service between Seattle (SEA) and Rome (FCO), with seasonal widebody service starting April 28.
“We are building the foundation for future global growth, and we are excited for our customers to see how we fit into the worldwide supply chain for them,” said Ian Morgan, Alaska Airlines vice president of cargo. “Now we can connect from Japan or South Korea to Europe via Seattle, while still serving cargo needs throughout the West Coast and Hawai’i and reaching remote communities in the state of Alaska that no one else serves.”
The booking window for SEA-FCO opens March 28, and the booking window for SEA-LHR opens April 21. Wexco Cargo GSSA is our General Sales Agent partner supporting Alaska Air Cargo teams in London, and Global GSA Group will support our operations in Rome.

This spring, we also have exciting expansions coming for Southern California, the Bay Area, Hawai’i and Portland (PDX). Here’s what shippers can look forward to:
In April, we are adding service between San Diego and Dallas (DFW), Oakland (OAK) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU), giving us 49 nonstop destinations from our fastest-growing hub — more than any U.S. airline. The booking window opens March 22.
In April, we will also add a new seasonal flight between Honolulu (HNL) and Burbank (BUR) — the first time the two airports will be served with nonstop flights in two decades.
This spring our Los Angeles (LAX)-Kahului, Maui (OGG) route will add a second daily nonstop flight, and in June, our routes connecting San Francisco (SFO) with Kona (KOA) and Lihu’e (LIH) will increase to daily. By early summer, we will fly daily to the four largest Hawaiian islands from SFO.
We also have four widebody flights and two narrow-body flights every day between Honolulu and Seattle (SEA), as well as a widebody flight each day between Seattle and Kahului, Maui (OGG) — ideal for expediting time-sensitive shipments between the continental U.S. and Hawaiian Islands. And our nonstop flights connecting Honolulu with Las Vegas (LAS), Phoenix (PHX) and New York (JFK) carry time-critical shipments from the islands across the country.
In May, we’ll start nonstop service between Portland and Baltimore (BWI), Philadelphia (PHI) and St. Louis (STL) — creating exciting new shipping options for our second hub in the Pacific Northwest. The booking window for these routes opens April 13.
